Parents who have children who are 18 or older are ineligible for the recurring monthly advance payments, but they may be eligible for a credit of $500 in 2022. This credit is contingent on meeting certain criteria. People who are claimed as dependents and are at least 18 years old are required in order to be eligible. For dependents to be eligible, they must be between the ages of 19 and 24 and enrolled in college full-time.
